My Relative With Depression.
I have a relative, lets call him John, who suffered from clinical depression. John was in year 9 when it started. He was ditched by his friends because of an unfortunate incident at a party. He had no-one else and didn't know how to make friends. He started to avoid school and eventually refused to go. John didn't have any siblings and he didn't talk to his parents about what was wrong.
For about a month he spend all day playing video games, rarely leaving the house, binge eating and putting on 5 kilos. He was very miserable. Eventually after far to long his mother took him to the doctor.
At the doctor John was asked a few questions and was diagnosed with Major Depression and given a prescription for anti depressants and convinced to go back to school. After a week he started feeling better and was confident enough to talk to people and make friends. He finished VCE last year and got into the course he wanted.
This story shows that it gets better with the right treatment.
