Cause Of The Disorder
Clinical depression, also known as non melancholic depression. or major depression is caused by an imbalance of emotion chemicals in the brain, especially a lack of serotonin, which is known as the happy hormone. This serotonin deficiency is often past down genetically.
Signs and Symptoms
Clinical depression isn't when you have a bad day or a flat week, depression is when you have a depressed mood and the following symptoms for more than 2 weeks.
Lowered self esteem, over-tiredness or insomnia, lowered appetite or comfort eating, loss of enjoyment of activities that used to be fun and becoming self critical.
